I found a large and very old decaying piece of a beech tree with a hollow trunk. It split into beautiful, curvaceous slithers of wood, but on first glance they didnt seem to lend themselves to anything particularly obvious. As I often do, I left a piece on my workshop bench, and sure enough, it suddenly became obvious that it was a boat - and then the fun began!
